Just to play Pokémon

Personally I stopped caring about anything Nintendo after the Game Cube, I'm not interested in the Switch at all. The previous handheld systems were good and affordable.

Plenty of them do, actually.

My brother has only ever played Pokémon and he doesn't like games in general.

Though, unlike other people who want to ruin it by making it an action RPG and/or a shitty open box western zoomer world who don't like Pokémon he stopped playing after Gen 2 except Gen 1 and 2 now and again instead of trying to make it shit for the people who do like myself.

Pretty much this. I bought my Switch almost 2 years ago and to this date I only have 3 games for it, one of which I played for about 5 hours (Pokken). The game lineup is fucking awful. Eshop is filled with mobile game shite, Nintendo's IPs are stupidly overpriced and only BoTW interested me. Any of the other good titles are just crappy ports that you can get better versions of elsewhere (and cheaper, too).
Huge waste of money. I'm probably getting Sword or Shield if only to give my Switch something to actually do.

That's your problem, not the console's. I have around 20 and that's more than I had for PSP, PS3, DS and 3DS.

Either try third-party games and quit complaining that your corporate overlord doesn't shit out something you'll forget next month or become PC master race. You can always emulate old games that were actually good.

I don't care about a Switch. I have both a Steam account and a Wii U with loads of unfinished games and I'd rather finish them off until I buy a new console.
Besides, I don't even play videogames as much now.

I have 30 games for the Switch. That's just physical. Bayonetta 2, mhgu, Hyrule and fire emblem warriors, smash, Mario odyssey, xbc2 and twewy are some favorites. It's not the system's fault you have no interest in real video games.

I'd have even more if it weren't for Nintendo gypping us. I am not paying exorbitant import prices for a game that should've just released physically everywhere.

Nor am I paying for a physical game to have to download part of it (that's why one of the upcoming games I am buying is the Witcher 3 - I may very well not like it as I've disliked everything I've seen over the years but I am damn well supporting a dev willing to put in the work to get it on the fucking right sized card - and who knows... maybe I'm wrong and the game is great, I doubt it but I'm not perfect ao a mistake is definitely possible).

It's almost literally a matter of printing the box art in different languages in some cases because many have English included in the Japanese release so localization isn't a problem.

I've also got as many digital. Well, assuming you ignore the ones I bought digitally not knowing a physical existed that I then repurchased in which case they slightly out number them.
