Not to long ago Celebi accidentally sent him back in time to meet a Young Kukui and when Young Kukui challenged Ash and Torracat to battle him and his Litten Ash tried to tell Torracat to take it easy which pissed of little Kukui.

Ash seemed like he wanted to throw the match but respected Young Kukui's wishes and fought at full strength. Naturally it was totally one sided.

Am I the only one who really like the characters' writing in Sun&Moon ?
Everyone feel miles more "alive" than in XY (especially the team rocket), but I see everyone shit on this season.

Celebi was just randomly there, got spooked, sent the entire zone around him in the past to flee.
He sent back Ash a bit later after realizing he brought stowaways.
Really hamfisted way to explain adult's Kukui love for training and powerful moves.
