>>39797543This redesign might look better aesthetically, but it removes all of the design's gimmick: being a yeti fakeout.
First, the hands are like this to create fake yeti footprints, it's also why the arms look so weird, it's to be able to properly stomp the footprints on the ground.
Second, the body is meant to be a false monster face: the real mouth looks like a frown with the teeth being angry white eyes, the thing on the chest is a fake angry monster mouth. The goal of which is to be mistook for the head of a yeti from afar.
These gimmicks have for goal to intimidate and scare off predators like many real animals do (by making themselves look bigger than they are, or having fake threatening patterns on them for exemple), the actual design is exactly this with a unique twist on it, all the while adding a mythical creature into the mix.
Sure, the execution is less than ideal, especially when it comes to looking appealing, but this redesign really doesn't fix anything and all it achieves is turning it into some weird generic hermit snow crab. Hell, the shape of the body no longer makes sense now that it is no longer trying to mimic the shape of a yeti's head.
You might say the gimmick was overcomplicated and shit to begin with, but if that's the case then you'd be better off redoing the design from scratch rather that desperately latching onto the existing one to "fix" it.
