It's very strange how they constantly dabble on this idea on every recent game:
>in B2W2, you meet Yancy/Curtis, who develops an explicitly romantic interest in you, you can date them as much you want but they will never tell you their true feelings about you>Shauna watches the fireworks with you, her character doesn't evolves much beyond this point>In ORAS, May/Brendan's dialogue is filled with awkwardness, and before fighting Groudon/Kyogre it looks like they were about to say they love the player, just to ultimately say you are "their best friend". Additionally them and the player go in what's explicitly a date to see the meteor shower>Also in ORAS, Lisia scouts the player and puts them in a love triangle between her and Chad named Chaz (Also, the whole vocal version of her theme, just fucking listen it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqeJCGIgvn4)>In gen 7 there's the whole Lillie arc, the game turns her into the de facto waifu as the plot revolves around her and the player is forced to care and look after her. In SM she and Lusamine go away to Kanto and leave the player I don't know why they do this, I know the game are mainly aimed to children, who don't care for that kind of stuff but why do they need to remind the grown-up playing the games how sad and lonely their lives are if they can't get love even in a videogame?
