Making a team of six pokemon and training them properly to the point where I can rely on any one of my pokes in a fight because I feel it makes me bond with them more. I still keep my starter at a higher level than the rest(including the legend) because I feel he should still be special in some way.

Pokemon ost used to be godly in general pre gen 6. Every region/gen had it's own godly tunes but I feel that's lacking in the newer games, especially gen 8. All the songs so far just feel like a Fruit Loops noob putting together a song on the fly for the first time ever, there's no general theme it's just one tacked on sect after another and they don't really flow. Tbf gen 7 had a few decent tracks though.

Typically after completing the games I just put together a team based on my fave mons and use them to battle against my friends, so a natdex is really important for the longevity of the game for me. Whilst I'm not battling other players I just enjoy the post game features like the strong trainers/rematches, Battle Frontier,catching legends e.t.c.
