Sinnoh and Hoenn are the top because they have the best variety on routes abd environments. Sinnoh is very comfy. And before you scream about muh hm's or muh water, they make you feel like its really an adventure.

Unova has great variety too, especially with the seasons and bw2 expansion of the map. Loses out to hoenn and sinnoh though. Because the overall routes are more linear and simple.

Kalos takes the simplicity up a notch on the routes but I still love the region because again its routes are still more or less varied and interesting.

Johto, sorry but this region was sacrificed in gen2 to get muh Kanto added in the game, resulting is a cramped tiny abf boring map stapled on to a lifeless second map. Adding kanto may have given you 8 more gyms but it really fucked Johto over which is a shame, because hgss shows us the region deserves better.

Kanto sucks, plain and simple. While you get kinda an open route around the middle of the game the entire region has remained bland and uninteresting with little variety and i was reninded of that when playing lets go pikachu. Going to gen 3 and adding the sevii islands adds a few points though.

Alola sucks, that's all.
