>>39811904It never gets that edgy, but it's still edgier than the normal Pokemon game since you're a Rocket grunt and you steal Pokemon from people. There's some cringy dialogue at points, but nothing that really damages the experience too much. The story is undeniable fanfic tier, but it's an interesting enough take on RBY to keep you hooked.
The gameplay is great. It puts a nice spin on RBYFRLG, so if you really like Kanto and want to experience it in a new way, you should try this out. There's a morality system in play after the first mission in the form of a bounty system. If your bounty is high (ie you steal a lot of Pokemon), Pokemarts won't sell you anything. Money is scarce so you'll have to do with item pick-ups and stolen Pokemon, since you can't buy healing items or pokeballs. If your bounty is low (and you can bribe police to get it low, or surrender stolen Pokemon), then marts will sell you stuff. There's also some sidequests you can participate in depending on how high your bounty is, and the quests usually have some choice as well.
