What's getting me is that the protagonists having personalities, voices (especially Hilbert, I was not expecting what came out of his mouth), and histories. Also, I genuinely find Lear to be entertaining with how overthetop he is about being a jerk. And somehow, I began having fun with these battles. I turned it back to the slowest setting, turned animations back on for everything, and began using themed teams. My Ice-type seventh Gym Leader trio vs three Ghost-type Elite Four members was particularly memorable and there were a couple of close calls despite my ~40 characters having hit their final level caps.
Has anyone reached the Gear course yet? I beat up to the end of the current story and I didn't get any notifications. Do I have to go and beat the rest of the co-op missions on Normal and Hard now, or is it even part of the game yet?
