Pokemon SS will do fine.
The vocal minority here is indeed a minority with higher standards than the average consumer.
Game Freak could do better, but they don't have to, nor do they want to.
Game Freak is not obligated to make any sort of game for anyone other than themselves.
Game Freak clearly wants to make shit like Town rather than Pokemon after making Pokemon for 20 years.
The Pokemon Company has enough money that they could live through a flop.
The Pokemon Company makes enough money yearly that they could live through several flops and still be making profit.
Many Pokemon games with negative press, both before and after launch, have still achieved great sales that outpaced the fan favorite games. ORAS sold better than HGSS. PoGo sold better than B2W2.
SS probably won't even be bad.
I don't say these things to hurt you. I say them so that you will be hurt less once the reality hits.
