Whether you like it or not, Sword and Shield will define the future of the Pokemon franchise. If it flops (unlikely, but we'll see) then expect a push towards mobile content. If it succeeds, then say hello to more casualization. Pokemon won't outright die anytime soon, but expect it to become a franchise zombie in only a few years.
