Which region do you guys think had the best gym leaders? My money goes to Sinnoh. Every one had a lot of personality and is memorable, except maybe Roark. I like to imagine what kind of shenanigans they get up to. Do gym leaders communicate with eachother often?

Hoenn for me. I'm probably biased because it's my favorite region, but I liked all of them.

Okay Roxanne seemed like a dork but I did like her
Norman is pretty cool
Winona has a very iconic design and was my favorite as a kid

The rest are alright but honestly I don't remember much about them, while in Sinnoh I remember all of them. I may suffer from the same issue as you may be (Sinnoh is my favorite)

Unova's are the only ones I remember honestly, because for the most part they actually existed outside of their gyms

Yeah, but for this gym leader project of mine, I wanna give each leader a pokemon they used that was also introduced in the same generation as them. Kingdra was out and already used for Clair.

>>39844370 is correct about Kingdra, but Crawdaunt would make more sense for Juan since while he also has a Walrein, Wallace also uses a Walrein but not a Crawdaunt which makes Crawdaunt more unique on Juan's team and more visible as his ace. You know, if you're not using Kingdra.

Definitely agree with you OP. The Sinnoh gym leaders have a lot of personality in their designs and are my favourites because of that. They aren't just a generic representation of their types and are actually interesting designs that have some relation to the types like Fantina, Crasher Wake and Volkner. Also, meeting them in the villa and getting to know them was fun, like how Maylene secretly likes Accesories and borrows them from Candice or Byron and Roark's relationship.

Unova had the best. The only good ones in Sinnoh are the fighting type, electric, and steel ones.

Honestly, the first four gens are about equal to me in terms of gym leaders. They all have a few I like. Gen 5 isn't far behind, even if I don't like the designs as much. I don't know what the fuck happened with Kalos, were all those designs done in a rush? The captains in SM were a bit better, but honestly only the artist girl stands out to me as, say, someone it would be cool to see in a future game.
