Otherwise Ash will have much trouble getting in the game in the first place
But Masters can definitely add Jessie/James/Meowth as they appeared in Yellow/LGPE and are the only anime original characters to be physically present in the games iirc
They would definitely help Ash to bridge the gap between the anime and masters if they are added before him
But there's still something that bugs me : how could they make Ash interract with the other characters since they all come from the games? Would Selene/Elio recognize him? The other characters would suddenly pretend that they already met him before? Could they introduce him as the hat wearing trainer who beat Lear in the past? I don't know
At the end I think the best thing anime/special fans could get would be a one week event in which you can earn a sort of skin/costume/sygna related to the character in the event for your MC
