A lack of self control would see you do it the simplest way which would be retail day one.
It does show a lack of intelligence however because what they've already told us is a reason to not want to play it at all.
As someone who bought Trash Go second hand I did so because there was unironically apparent misinformation and I wanted to know what was correct. This time it doesn't matter what may or may not be true because outright cutting Pokémon is not okay, especially on top of cutting more other content rather than bringing it ALL back like they should've 6 years ago.
If you care about the Dex you don't need to play it because it's already so bad by default it doesn't matter what may or may not be misinformation.
