Considering the massive number of things it's neutral against and only having a weakness to Fighting (which matters in the case of the fat bitch that is Chansey), shit can go crazy given the right BST and abilities, just look at what happened to Mega-Kangaskahn

I don't know shit about competitive, but favorite Normals for each generation would be Raticate, Noctowl, Zigzagoon, Munchlax, Unfezant, Heliolisk, and Bewear

To be honest I can't really tell if normal is bad competitively because of the type itself or that most normal types are low bst shitmons with no niches. Stuff like chansey, snorlax and mega kangaskhan are outliers.
