Each pokemon is assigned an offensive type, based on its energy usage. This type is applied to all of its attacks:
>Fire, Water, Lightning, Grass, Fighting, Psychic, ColorlessEach pokemon is also assigned a defensive typing which determines resistances and weaknesses:
>Fire, Water, Electric, Grass, Poison, Psychic, Fighting, Rock, Normal, Flying, Dragon (semi-independent typing)These defensive types almost always have a set weakness, and a set resistance (sometimes replaced for no resistance)
