Good thing horse riding exists in BOTW and half of getting your ideal mount is creeping up and breaking them yourself in the wild. Imagine creeping up on a rideable Pokemon and then pulling batshit crazy stunts to befriend them as they thrash and try to throw you off.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Astral Chain are the real games that Pokemon should be compared to. Unlike BotW, both have themes and game mechanics similar to Pokemon.
