can you retards stop? The new series isn't confirmed to be a reboot or have a new protag, for all we know it still follows Ash going through Galar as the main story while having side stories of other trainers in other regions ultimately crossing paths during the series like they did during XY with Alain, it's the PCU now.

Ash is still the series protagonist as ditching him means ditching their cash cow pikachu so it’ll never happen. Show will be Ash using Fly at the end of each episode like the Littlest Hobo setting up for next week

I think the anime writers just forget all the old rivals of Ash except for like Brock and Misty and one or two others.
I mean the indigo league arc itself has a big pile of rivals Ash promised to rematch again but probably never will.
You could call that the biggest joke/flaw of Ash: He doesn't go through on a lot of his promises to people.

I'm kind of hoping Ash wins the alola league and goes on a World Tour as a champion and rebattles his old rivals, whilst someone else's story arc is happening in Galar. Which ends up with the two crossing paths as rivals, and then they travel together for a bit, then have a final showdown after defeating the villain of the region and then part ways again.

The Pocket Monsters logo from Movies 20-21 isn't random. Ash being replaced by his AU counterpart is likely.

It ultimately doesn't make a big difference character-wise. It just gives him a reason to revisit the old regions. Personality-wise, Ash is barely a character at this point.

what I mean is, just because they don't have an episode showing them meeting again in the anime doesn't mean they won't canonically meet again off-screen. You'd have to be seriously autistic to think they weren't talking about many years in the future when ash is much older
