The "SS" qualification if now used to denote a passenger ship.
"Steamship" is the original meaning, sure, but nowadays it's used to tell at a glance what the ship is used for, as opposed to how it moves.

Like I said, SS is the most commonly used designation for passenger ships.
The type of propulsion doesn't matter.
