it's also more portable, too, since you can detach the joycons and give it a much more manageable footprint (sometimes if I know I won't need them I'll just bring the screen and a pro controller)
you can also use the joycons separated from the body, which honestly can be pretty comfy in the right conditions
basically, only get the slim if you want to spend less, it's more or less worse in every way
