>>39880902I'll be honest, I don't think Pokemon can do story or character focused games, at least compared to other series focused around it that do it right. Pokemon's gameplay is solely about you and your Pokemon, there's a huge disconnect from story & outside characters, they're completely optional to it. and if you decide to focus more on characters & stories, unless it ties in to the actual gameplay, it's just going to muddy the entire experience, games like Persona or Fire Emblem that focus a lot on character relationships has a benefit outside of that as actual gameplay elements, in Pokemon, there is no benefit with being nice to Lillie, nor does Lillie help in any meaningful way, and I imagine SWSH will be the same.
