I think Hoenn's is seriously underrated, but it's true that making it a league of literally whos hurt its impact and memorability.
Sinnoh is undoubtedly the best, but at that point the Pokemon League already felt like a pretty routine thing. There was no big deal for the opening and closing ceremony, for example because it wasn't necessary at that point. We also knew he was gonna lose no matter what by this point. Using Pokemon from all of Ash's travels definitely boosts the soul™ points by a lot though.
Kalos skipped way too many battles and treated its league like a filler arc.
Unova and Alola are just lol.
