I was so hyped up over this thing back int the day, but in hindsight, it really looks underwhelming. Why did its umbilical chord/tail thingy turn into hair for no reason. It looks stupid and threw mewtwo's whole clone thing in favor of a generic alien.

The Mewtwo from the Genesect movie is female. The Mewtwo from the first movie and Mewtwo Returns is male.

Off topic: Something I don't get, why in Mastermind of the Mirage did Pikachu not remember Mewtwo like he did those other Pokemon they showed flashbacks of? Bulbapedia says it's because Ash and Pikachu's memories were wiped at the end of the first movie, but Ash specifically made sure Mewtwo wouldn't wipe their memories at the end of Mewtwo Returns. So Pikachu should still remember Mewtwo from then, especially since he was fighting Mirage Mewtwo and thus that memory should've had the biggest trigger of all...

It took going to the fucking Amazon to find a new fossil, how are we supposed to believe that they managed to get another Mew pube and then clone something that is exactly identical to the specimen created for Giovanni

Having a male or female voice doesn’t make them such anymore then it does when you change Alexa’s voice

I refused to believe this thing was really. Like the artists wanted to revert Mewtwo back to Mew really badly and only realized they had to reallocate the tube neck and larger tail after it was too late.

Possibly though if that's a sixth gen clone of Mew with it being chimerized each gen to get around the genetic degradation... it shouldn't look like Mewtwo at all but some eldritch abomination
