Pokemon have always looked inferior to other games on the same console. Thats why i dont understand all the hate for Sword and Shield. Gamefreak has always been shit at graphics.

XY and SM don't. The only other 3DS games I've played with as polished looking models are the Ace Attorney games.

Not true...
When they started out, on GB and N64 they were on level with everything else at the time.

The fell off during the GC/GBA era
R/S/E looked like shit, and were mostly recolors of the old sprites, and Colleseum reused models from the N64

Understandable but it was a low budget game and TPCi and Creatures most likely couldn't invest as much in 3D modellers as they can now considering how expensive it was at the time. Why remake 251 models for a game you aren't sure many people are going to buy? Sounds like a waste of money especially since most kids are barely going to notice on a 360p CRT television.

You can't objectively say that HGSS and BW/2 look bad just because they aren't fully polytonal 3D, which is what you actually mean and it's just your stylistic preference. A note on that matter, I can still pick up my copy of soul silver and don't be turned off by the graphics but I can barely replay one of my other favorite games of that era, DQM JOKER 2, because it looks too primitive in comparison to what I have been grown used to by today standards.

Kid Icarus looks 400X better then pokemon, and I dont even like uprising. An RPG should be monumentally easier to make look good then an action game.

Prove it. 3D modelling and animating wasn't as easy access at the time as it is now where rotoscoping and mocap is now cheaper than making sprites and you couldn't just have a 2d pokemon game going for $60. Keep in mind that a lot of the reason as to why people were buying the game was because they wanted to fill out the rest of the Johto dex with mons like Ho-oh, Tyranitar, Lugia etc.

The hate is because it's been twenty fucking years, and the Switch has been out for two and a half. They've had ample time to get better at it and yet they just haven't. And SwSh is the first time where they're using working on the graphics as an excuse for cutting content, yet the graphics are nothing special at all.

I personally like how SwSh looks, but you're a shill if you think it looks anything above "standard" for a Pokémon game.
