What is your honest opinion of the Elite Four as a whole? Would you be fine with Game Freak replacing it with something else in the next game? (Not that they'd ever, but this a hypothetic question.)

I thought the E4 is a nice challenge. No going back to heal your Pokémon at the Pokémon center until you’re defeated or you defeat the champion. I just wish they made it hard again instead of the baby shit in SM/ USUM

I really like the "tournament" style that the anime does though. The battle dome in Emerald and the PWT in B2/W2 were great too.

I like the Elite Four, although I feel they're at their best when they genuinely feel challenging and, above all, menacing. Music like the E4 themes from Gens V and VII really help with that. Make sure their teams are a real step up from what you've faced up until then.

beating them and the champion is almost always the final thing of the game but they're never the villains of the game's plot. Just once I wish the Elite Four were the leaders of the Evil Team or whatever is menacing the region at the time and defeating them actually brings closure to something instead of just "here's a boss rush, you'll never get to know these people more than that." It's yet another tradition the series has been stuck with since the 90s that it's never bothered to outgrow.

I like the E4 but I feel like some are more memorable than others. Kalos, Sinnoh, except Flint, and Hoenn are really forgettable. Aloha as well despite actually appearing in the main game. In a lot of cases gym leaders are probably more memorable though.

I think it's a great challenge, but I wish they could use more variety in their type specialties. It's always Dark, Ghost, Fighting, Psychich and Steel.

I understand why we can't have something like a Grass Elite Four, but for example having Flying in Sun and Moon was a nice change of pace.

Also this >>39893222. Not being able to pick the order felt more like a challenge.
