The chase cards haven't had them for years, but regular Western cards still have them, unfortunately. My biggest fear is that Japan will eventually get the yellow borders, too, in their effort to make Japan and the West's meta lineup.

No, there's another mechanic called Pokemon V-MAX that brings their HP into the low 300s. Presumably this is akin to how Mega Evolution was handled in the TCG (Pokemon-EX -> evolve into M Pokemon-EX). Though since it's confirmed that "V" stands for "eVolve" these might also be evolution cards, meaning V-MAX is like Level X/BREAK plus an extra evolution on top of that.

Sounds based, that's how me and the other kids played back in elementary school. No Energy needed to attack, can play evolved pokemon without base forms, no retreat cost and no prize cards, we just kept going until break time ended and counted who killed more.

They might be also hiding the legendaries' pre-evo as well. If the HP values are the same as GX's, then the Legendaries should be Stage 1's with an HP of 220/230.

Would they really do evolving legendaries again? The whole plot of Gen 7 revolved around a small cute Pokemon used by a major character actually being the legendary. People would expect it this time around, and it probably would've been revealed by now - this time of year in 2016 we got our first look at Cosmog

The reason is they are armor forms. Think something like Primal Kyogre/Groudon: the Zacian/Zamazenta we know are like them. So they aren’t their real form. They are enhanced forms
