Actually if you listen closely to the 8bit channels used throughout RSE, it's generally used for harmony in the songs which don't even appear in the remake, such as the team aqua/magma grunt battle theme.

Also, if you don't believe me, look up "Langrisser Fight it Out". The remake completely removed the harmony for some reason and the song feels devoid of life. Harmony is really important in order to keep a song really strong.

Steven was the first one that came to mind when I saw the thread. Would work as a bonus track in the soundtrack release but not the official. Maxie/Archie was one of the few actually trying to do something different, so less from me there.
