Sword & Shield was clearly a 3DS game that Nintendo demanded be made for the Switch instead. That's the real rreason behind all the cut Pokemon; they had to start development over from scratch.

That's a pretty dumb theory. If this is true, why do the "new" models in sword and shield look identical to the ones used way back in X and Y. This is a rhetorical question, obviously they are the same ones for X and Y with new HD textures.
