So when did this water/poison meme come into existence?
As for the TCG reason, might I remind you that seven different types resist grass? Sobble could easily be part steel or dragon type, too.

Bug,Flying,Dragon,Steel,Poison,Grass Resist Grass but only a Water/ Bug,Flying,Steel or Poison is weak to Electric ruling out Water/Dragon and Water/Grass as well as the obvious Water/Fire. What is most likely Intelleon is I'd say Poison followed by Steel.

Water/Grass and Water/Dragon take neutral to both Grass and Electric so count those out.

Sobble would potentially end up part Bug,Fire,Flying, Poison, or Steel.

Yes what does that have to do with anything. Water/Ground and Water/Psychic are still weak to Grass which would be the first type chosen as a Weakness.

It's one of the explanation, the other one is that he's the one resisting grass yeah and is water/poison or water/dragon etc.. .

He can't be Water/Dragon because he wouldn't be weak to Lightning. Bug, Flying, Steel or Poison that's it. The other starters can be part electric sure but they still wouldn't be SE to Sobble in this set because the cards are Grass and Fire cards. The Weakness needs a Lightning card to come into effect.

The set will have all types of cards it's just that Scorbunny is a Fire card in this set and will remain so even on Stage 3 all cards only show a single type at a time.

no starter ever will be dragon type
steel is weak to electric, yes, but Intelleon is not going to be part steel type with the spy gimmick
neither is it going to be bug
or flying

that only leaves poison, and considering how much of a big deal they make out of Sobble tears being toxic as fuck, it fits.
