In bw2 the region is experienced in another order, so not really. And the starting town is new. That's why I like the sequel better, but all the story is about continuing where bw left.so, its your choice, story, or monster variety/postgame.

Well, this is the only time in the series where the subsequent version isn't a remaster, but a sequel.
You should play through both. If you only want to play through one of them, BW2 is the better option. It simply has more content.
Black vs. White is simply dependent on what version exclusives you prefer. BW2 also has some asthetic differences. Pokemon Black 2 has areas with a more modern/futuristic feel to it, and those areas are more rustic in White 2.
Personally, I'd go for White & Black 2.

Between B2W2 and BW, definitely choose B2W2, it has more content and fun stuff

Between B2 and W2...
B2 has Black Kyurem (the Electric version), Black City and the Dragon City is futuristic.
W2 has White Kyurem (the Fire version), White Forest and the Dragon City is pretty melancholic and satisfyingly calm.

Zekrom (B2) has a better design and type in my opinion.
If you really want a Team with diverse Types and chose the Fire Starter, dont choose Reshiram.

If you beat the Black Tower in B2 you get a shiny Gible.
If you beat the White Tree in W2 you get a shiny Dratini.

BW is better if you know nothing about the unova pokemon. When it was new, it was like playing for the first time again. Keeping old mons for after the league was a great idea.

Both, I played white and black 2. Both are good for different reasons, but I usually play 2 more times because of the post game.

It's not like Alola where the ultra games follow the same story. They're proper sequels, even if it's the same region.
But if you can only play one, BW2 is my vote
