>>39942045I've always wanted a diablo esque pokemon dungeon crawler, with a dragalia lost type system to swap characters and make teams.
But dream pokemon game.
Massive maps between large involved towns. No more 2/3 houses counting as a town.
Breath of the wild style climbing and swimming, being able to really explore the world. But much more stuff than BOTW think monster hunter worlds style where the large explorable areas have lots of little nooks and crannies to crawl into.
Your pokemon follows you if it's able, obviously you can't have a slugma underwater and you can't have a goldeen on land. And you can switch between your pokemon and your trainer to take the lead. When you do this the trainer becomes like a background support character.
Maybe set it in the past, or some rougher area where your trainer fights along side your pokemon, could have larger boss battles that actually are hard that way. Where if you play the pokemon or trainer the other takes the role of an Ai partner than will just act based on commands. Support/defensive/offensive.
To keep it from getting a bit rediculous with every pokemon having all sorts of special animations for everything, you could base it on the current animation system where physical attacks use one animation and ranged use another.
Of course free roam multiplayer. Imagine climbing to the top of a massive spire, then kicking your friend off of it.
