>>39950931>Fanmade projects aren't forcibly adhering to strict annual deadlinesAnd yet, Showdown gets a whole new Gen of Pokemon within days of a new generation’s release, implementing the new mechanics, moves, abilities, and information about new/old Pokemon. On top of that, they also have tons of new features like OM, a calculator, an entire searchable database of Pokemon, and chat.
>B-but t-they reuse tons of assetsAnd so does GameFreak. GameFreak has all the data, models, ect. of every Gen 1-7 Pokemon. So assuming that;
A. GameFreak is in fact making new models (which they don’t even do that. Its handled by Creatures) that are identical to the original XY to USUM models
B. Remaking remaking said models is taking up so much time
Wouldn’t that mean GameFreak is just retarded and inefficient? When people doing it for free have been organization tacts than the highest grossing media franchise?
>B-but muh other contentThey have more than 3 years (since they work on each gen during the final stages of the gen before) to do the below bare minimum of what RPGs are expected to have.
And even assuming that this would be a struggle for any other company, why have they not hired more people? You would think that if they really were struggling, they would ask for help to implement those very few new features.
