>>39961658You have to get accepted by Nintendo as a Switch developer. For that, you have to be established as a company, have some previous released games and/or a great game in the works. I've had friends with games that have sold more than 200,000 copies which got rejected because their new project wasn't well received by Nintendo, meanwhile I made games that sold quite poorly and got it, so it's a quite a lottery.
When you are accepted as a Switch developer you can download the SDK and documentation, and then you can buy the devkits.
Normal is around $400, "Pro" is like $800. Pro is shit because it's not portable but uses a literal WiiU AC adapter, but is better for debugging and has HDMI output for handheld mode.
You NEED to have the normal one, Pro is not required
