I remember Kanto feeling weirdly empty and lifeless in GSC. Did they fix that in HGSS?

Kanto has always been like that. Nothing done in gen 1-now has ever changed that. Sevii islands were about the only noticeable change, and LGPE had some tasteful distribution tweaks that made sense. That’s about it. It was always the roughest region, in need of being reimagined and expanded. It was the pritotype region. It feels like the prototype region.

It's the same Kanto as the original but it feels like it has some history. It's really cool just for the world building alone, something newer games have shitted on since ORAS.
