>>39960092They're all good, but Emerald really isn't lacking anything from either R/S. It's pretty much a straight upgrade, with much more content, better text and the addition of item images. It's pretty much a "director's cut" version, and one of the most solid games in the franchise.
Unless you have an ultra-favorite mon that is exclusive to Ruby or Sapphire, I'd say there is nothing lost in just playing Emerald.
