Should I buy a Switch mini when it's out? I would like to play the newer Pokémon games but I don't own a Switch yet, I feel that the console and games' prices are way to high for what they are worth.
On the other hand, we don't know for how many years and future titles we will get on the switch...
What should I do?

If you're only buying it for pokemon, then yeah. If you're interested in literally any other game on the system then no. Fire Emblem, Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Astral Chain, and Smash are all godly

Don't. Buying Nintendo consoles solely for Pokemon has been absolutely stupid for a few generations already. This is especially true for Switch, which has so many games completely blowing Pokemon out of the water.

If you’re only buying it to play Pokémon then maybe, but the Switch is the best game system to date and I’d highly recommend it. If you’re planning on buying more games, you should just get the regular Switch for the extra $100 because the Switch Lite is kinda garbage in comparison: smaller screen, joycons don’t detach, etc

The Lite is worse than the normal model. Unless the Lite gets a price cut, save a little more for the full standard Switch.

Don’t get Lite. Get standard, it’s better. And don’t just buy for a single game. Also try out something like Fire Emblem Three Houses or the Final Fantasy games in the eShop if you’re looking for more RPG/Strategy type games.

No absolutely not, it's worse than not buying anything. Joycons break and can't be replaced on the Lite also you lose the docked mode which is the whole point. The Lite is a worse 3DS.

You guys don't realize that model have better battery life, the non detachable joycons may be subjective, as not many games use them like that.

This. I'll happily give up milking cows if it means my controllers don't slide off in the middle of my game anymore. Also it's lighter so better for handheld use and the smaller screen will hopefully repel people asking for turns all the time.

I personally really enjoy the switch. Mario Odyssey, Pokken, Breath of the Wild, and Sma5h are all hits to me. I also like the SNES arcade that’s only like 2 bucks a month, I don’t know why people are so pissy about that price. My next home is some Pokémon classic games (since it’s supposed to be a portable console) but I’m not getting my hopes up. I say check used stores or craigslist if money is a big issue.

Because why would you pay monthly for lots of games when you can pay only once per game? You won't be playing all of them anyways. Besides, one can easily emulate the system nowadays.

Sure, get a switch.

If you're budget and plan on playing few games by yourself, the lite version is alrgight. But if its possible go for the original switch, play on your tv, get smash brothers and mario kart, invite people over or play with your family. Pokemon is pretty much an adition to an already-good system.
