I thought maybe it made sense, as in his logic maybe applied to a side of the Pokemon world we don't see very often as players. Like maybe there really are abused Pokemon that are always out of view because it's a kids franchise. Maybe they don't like fighting as much as we assume.
But then you learn he only really thinks that way because Ghetsis created a controlled environment for him where N would specifically only be feed the information required for his role in Ghetsis' grand scheme. And then the game kind of ends with N simply seeing the light by just seeing regular, mundane Pokemon trainers doing what they have always done. It doesn't help that most cases of abuse in the game are direct results of Team Plasma. Which made finding the remnants sympathetic in 2 a little difficult to swallow.
The game brought up an interesting view point but then did everything in it's power to invalidate that viewpoint by the end.

Just because his ideals meant well, it doesn't mean they were the truth about the state of the things.
Or just because it's true that not all Pokémon are happy interacting between humans, it doesn't mean that you shouldn't hold dear the ideals of friendship between the two populations.
It depends on the version you play.

refresh my memory- what he wanted was for humans to not have pokemon in their pokeballs, right? cause doing so is essentially turning a living creature/your pal, etc. into a caged slave? that ideal seems fine, since in the world of Pokemon, they're essentially just animals with super powers, so he's doing what PETA is supposed to do

every living creature that shows some sign of intelligence is an animal (that includes us). in THEIR world, Pokemon are literally animals with superpowers, that doesn't change because they're sentient.
