I really want a grasshopper mon, in my mind it starts as a bug/flying type but losses either one or both of its wings when it evolves and uses it as a shield becoming a bug/fighting type.

Maybe give it an ability with its shield that makes flying deal neutral damage to it.

Sobble is a chameleon, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s evolution took some inspiration of the plumed basilisk, since it seems like the most natural progression.
The plumed basilisk even shares Sobble’s head crest, so it’s plausible for Sobble became a basilisk with the spy/camouflage motif.

A fairy type sphynx based on a goblin.
Since they’re sensitive to the sun IRL, I’d imagine these would be nocturnal Pokémon with an affinity to the moon, which ties in to actual fairy and goblin lore

It's a cool lizard. Got big freaky feet so it can run on water. Way back in college I chose it for my Organic Modeling project, fusing it with a camel spider.
There also should be a pokemon based on camel spiders. Those fuckers are terrifying.

I did fantasize about a bunch of animals as Pokemon, but who gives a fuck they'll just be removed next gen. Hype and speculation is dead if most of this shit is only gonna be around for one game, then one every 7 or 8 games after that. If I got this Basilisk in gen 9 for instance (I'm 28 now) I could be over 50 by the time gen whatever 12 rolls around and they decide to let Basilisk in, if they ever do again after its introduction.

An evolution line based on this would be really cool. Maybe it could have a gimmick where depending on if it has the 'infected' condition or not is what it will evolve into after becoming a cocoon. Maybe even a new ability called Bug Off or something like that which prevents Bug Type moves from hitting it
