>>40005416>Gen 1Venasaur actually wins the ingame use war, though it's hard to tell the difference between it and Victribell, but Charizard is actually way, way better than either Arcanine or Moltres.
Blastoise is good up through midgame, but then falls off hard when shit like Lapras comes on the table.
>Gen 2Typhlosion is literally the only functional starter in the game, so it wins by default. Meganium is terribad, and Feraligatr has dogshit SpA, and no way to use its physical attack. Plus, free Red Gyarados.
>Gen 3Swampert is pretty good, easily the strongest in the game, but there are absolutely not many good fire types in Hoenn. Torkoal and Camerupt are not good fire types, while Ludicolo, Whiscash, and Gyarados are all good picks.
And Sceptile is pretty shit, especially if playing Saphirre or Emerald, and Ludicolo is on the table.
>Gen 4dead horse, moving on
>Gen 5Volcarona is basically unusable in B&W, Simisear is the worst monkey by a long shot, like, holy fuck that thing is bad.
Plus, Seismitoad, yo.
Serperior is Meganium-tier, seriously, Meganium is actually a bit stronger than Serperior, but is fucked by its region. Serperior doesn't have that same excuse, but is a miserable excuse for a starter.
BW2, you actually have a point, since Arcanine has been eating its wheaties since gen 1, and might even be a better fighting type than Emboar too, since I think it gets Close Combat.
>Gen 6If the only reason the fire starter isn't the best is because you get a better fire starter later is your best argument, I suggest you pack it in.
>Gen 7Magmar can't evolve without trading, but Slowpoke does, meaning Primarina's out of work, and Decidueye has to compete with Bounsweet.
