OG Linoone is actually one of the best off Pokemon thanks to its Gluttony/Drum/STAB Espeed niche. Is it the best niche? No, but until another Pokemon comes out with that exact same combo Linoone can never be truly irrelevant. Which is why if Galar Linoone ends up with those moves and straight up outclasses Hoenn then instead of "making Linoone relevant", it will actually do the opposite which is both fucking hilarious and depressing.

Obstagoon's Dark typing helps it with Ghosts and Steels, which the original Linoone struggled with. But of course, this is all contingent on whether Obstagoon gets Belly Drum and Extreme Speed, or not. It has to get both to even be remotely viable.
