You know, considering how nightmarish ghost Pokemon have become over the years, the Pokemon world would actually be a pretty damn scary place to live. On top of everything everywhere being more dangerous than Australia, when you die there's an extremely likely chance your soul will end up being used by a ghost Pokemon somehow. You can either have your soul absorbed by a Pokemon along with several others to be used as sustenance, your soul can be incinerated by a Pokemon's ethereal flames thus erasing it from existence, again for sustenance, or arguably the worst outcome you can become a Pokemon yourself, but a miserable revenant of a Pokemon, cursed to slowly lose what little humanity you had left as the Pokemon instincts take over and you become another death dealing soul stealer like the one that likely cursed you.

Why do they children play with these things again?
