>>40011761But I was playing Soul Silver for the first time the other day though
But Disappointed they changed the music, esp Slowpoke Well which was a beast of a track
>>40011536The game is easier in some ways and harder in others. They've introduced a bit of Pokemon Stadium's approach to gym leaders (though mercifully not quite as difficult as that) and Chuck for example cleared me out of money, I lost so many times whereas on the GBC the AI was more basic and a few Psybeams dealt with chuck easily.
The distribution of Pokemon so far is better than the GBC game. It was waaaaay too hard to catch pokemon in Gen II , especially the new pokemon (particularly single stage evolutions, such as Stantler, Girafrig, Skarmory, Aipom, Smeargle, Dunsparce, and others like Larvitar and Phanpy. Waaaay too difficult to catch these monsters.)
Now, it's easier to catch 'mon, perhaps too easy? - and that's a bit of a relief. So the Gyms are harder but the pokedex is easier.
>>40011566I have all 3 starters in my file and Croconaw so far is well the strongest. Best stats and also has got a 90 damage STAB attack already (Surf) and Crunch at Lv 31. He's also got Cut and Strength sorted. Bayleef's defense stats are too low and Grass types aren't much use for any of the Johto gyms. Quilava has OK stats but his moveset is crap. Toto is the way to go.
I have a Herracross and it's a beast. I gave it Shadow Claw (which you get early on) to deal with Psychic types.
Magneton is a good choice, and Gen II a Geodude is essential. Available early on, He's resistant to Normal attacks which are everywhere early on and once he has Magnitude / Rollout he's super effective against all of the last 4 gyms and normal effective against the others - plus insane Defense.
I'm going to get a Piloswine, and Houndoom (Eventually) and I want a Snorlax or a Chansey.
>>40011589 Magmar is insanely hard to catch in HGSS in burned tower, and his learnset isn't really anything to write home about either
