>>40020209I cant be happy when the victory is the closest thing you can get from a farce.
It sure looks big from the outside, ignorant point of view
>wow, Ash FINALLY won the leaguebut for someone who followed this and has a deeper knowledge of the circumstances, it becomes clear at how hollow this victory is, There were no entrance requirements, the trainers teams ranged from mediocre to laughably bad (A FUCKING MAGIKARP), battles were short 2v2 with very little strategy put into them and the final battle itself was lacking compared even to Ash weakest performances (kanto and unova). Its like when you see a professional team of a sport boasting the claim of being "their country's champion", but when in closer inspection, you find out they are from a tiny Mediterranean country where the sport is obscure and there were only 2 teams consisted of dads and office workers joining in a weekend to fuck around. It feels empty because IT IS empty, there were no hard struggles, tough enemies, complex strategies or a meaningful adventure, making the title nothing more than what it is, a title along with a pretty statuette, not a confirmation that all the effort that was put into acquiring it paid off, as there was none, Ash is no different than what he was from the start of the season.
It just goes to show that one; prizes really are meaningless by themselves and two; it really is the journey that we made along the way that is what matters, and this journey in particular fucking sucked.
