Orange league is non cannon
and battle frontier is not a normal league.

It was meant to be "Non-Canon" so they could eventually get to Johto, but story-wise, Ash winning the Orange League could be seen as a redemption arc for his loss at the Kanto League.

Also Battle Frontier by nature could be seen as being automatically harder than a league. Should already be a lot more of a chad achievement then most leagues he fought in, especially Alola's imo.

Battle Frontier is the only real accomplishment worth shit and he still had plenty of preparation time and training between each fight unlike a fucking tournament.
