Far be it from me to defend GF for cutting content or features, especially when people like them, but did you really expect UBs to stick around?
Megas, I can see, but UBs revolve a major plot device that would be difficult to shoehorn into every game. That's why they weren't a great idea to begin with.

UBs for me too.

Although for UBs I can see it being all or nothing. Since they're not explicitly tied down to Alola (or any region), I can see them showing up as reoccuring things in future games in post game, with 1-3 new ones per gen. I'm not expecting them at all, but they can technically be a reoccurring archetype.

Naturally-occurring wormholes? They're literally doing the exact same thing with the Dynamax voids in SWSH.

And megas don't? With UBs you at least get that wormholes can happen randomly and Cosmog isn't the only one who can spawn them. The lore for mega stones in XY was that it only occurred in Kalos because of the dumb weapon and they retconned that immediately in the next game.

before E3? absolutely

i figured they'd just be catchable in ultra sword and ultra shield in 2021. you now how they'd do it. random ultra wormholes opening up in galar. maybe you'd need solgaleo or lunala in the party to access them
