I love them all up to 4, but Gen 5 is shit for me because
1. Focusing on the story in a pokemon game of all things
2. The region is incredibly linear, you just go from one town to the next with no backtracking, in a circle.
3. It was easy, Gym leaders only having 3 mons and a garbage elite 4
4. The dex was awful, a lot of gen 5 is hit or miss but the cool mons all evolve at like lv 50 which means you only have them for postgame.

At least 6 had good multiplayer

It's already up to Gen 5 only 3 and a half years in. Alola forms are already in and I doubt they'll do Megas or Gigantamax. They should be caught up to Gen 8 before Gen 9 comes out.
