>>40040989Was playing Black v2 for the first time a while back. For the life of me can't remember the mons involved but I had a battle against a trainer, in game, whose two mons ended up being quad effective against my main two mons, and SE against my backups (I was doing a monotype run and it was still fairly early in the game) in entirety. In summary, one of their mons was quad effective against one of my mains and SE against one of my backups, where their other mon was quad against my other main and SE against my other two backups.
Each of my mains had checks against the their quad weak-to counterpart but only one of them was stab. As well one was 4 levels higher than their team while the other, the non stab, was 3. So I led in blind to the 3 level lower mon which got matched up against its quad weak to mon. As it was a special attacker against a specially weak mon, 3 levels higher, and using a (while still non stab it's 3 levels higher and offensively superior) SE move. So I decide to attack.
I watch the health bar go all the way down and see nothing left, so I celebrate because I was a little worried. But it doesn't faint. With what had to be literally 1hp left it hits me with the quad effective move and ohkos me. With a crit. I'm pissed but I send out my strongest main, out speed the bastard, and faint it. They send the next mon out and this is the four levels lower but still quad effective mon against my remaining main. This time I'm physically attacking and physically defensive mon. But I'm SE, four levels higher, and get stab with type boosting item. So I attack it and watch the health bar go all the way down. I think I've won, and don't sweat it.
>it doesn't faintAgain, with a visually empty health bar, this mon hits me with the quad effective attack,
>critsAnd ohkos me again.
I shut off the DS, after not saving for an hour and a half, and didn't play the game again for nearly two weeks.
