What kind of fossil pokemon are you hoping for this gen?

I'd like to see one based on a plesiosaur / Loch Ness.

For this gen specifically, a poorly reconstructed crystal palace iguanodon. In general, more cambrian oddballs rather than dinosaurs, we have plenty of regular dino mons. Resurrection from things other than fossils would be neat too, a generation with hair and bone taken from glacial ice for instance.

Europe isn't exactly known for it, but I'd like to see a Stegosaurus. A few have been found there, so its possible (Unless they want to do more 'koala in hawaii' type shit)

Fossils are too hard for them to implement lol.
Guaranteed gen 8 won't have any and the ones that were fossils will be in the wild. They'll just say that since trainers were resurrecting fossils those pokemon were reintroduced to the ecosystem.

There were no fossils in Alola because Hawaii literally has none. It’s too geologically young. They explained this in an interview.

Like I have been saying since gen 4, I want the fossilmons to be things weirder and more obscure and not just dinosaurs, as I feel that "regular" Pokemon can just as easily be dinosaurs, and in fact I would like it if we got prehistoric-based, non-fossil Pokemon to open up creativity more and thus not have us limited to just a single pair, "stuck" with Rock type, most likely just dinosaurs.

Semi-rant aside, I nominate Opabinia and any one of the weirdos from the Permian

Ideally, I'd like a Plesiosaur or Ichthyosaur but we already have rock/water pokemon so a cool spin could be a fairy/rock dodo since theyre flightless and look fucking mystical
