2 examples right there that prove that people identify as literally whatever the fuck they want, whether it be species or gender or other. To pander to any of the infinite possibilities of variations of "self identification" is to validate that person and their beliefs. Validating such a notion does nothing to help that individual or progress society in a reasonable way. Validating one identity while not validating another is to oppress other identities, and thus a never ending cycle of inclusion creates a paradox. To pander to each and every identity would remove all available memory and space for the actual game.
And the game is Pokemon, and it's about Pokemon. It is not about virtue signalling or creating a safe space for absurd identities of self expression. It's about fucking Pokemon.
