Most likely a standalone Pokemon that will evolve in these titles. Usually version exclusives have a connection with each other. Farfetch'd is a bird and its evolution is a bigger bird. At the same time, Farfetch'd is a comical Pokemon known mostly for being a joke and weaker than other Flying-types.

My guess is Delibird. Delibird is equally a joke as Farfetch'd, and Game Freak has been shilling it a bit with its role in SM. Delibird will probably get an evolution based on how different deliveries are in a UK region. So maybe like a postman or a train engineer type of evolution.

I'm one of the few people who actually like Farfetch'd, and really like this design, but I had kind of decided on getting Shield earlier
Now I'm back on the fence because I want to be able to use a Sirfetch'd on my team for my first playthrough

This interests me because in the anime The actor guy Rotom likes is seen going to Galar on TV with a Chatot. This was all before Galar was confirmed.

I'm not, since Gen 6 they've been revealing way too fucking much about the games in the months prior to release. I'm perfectly happy with the amount of info we've been getting. Leave some mystery in the games themselves.

Was watching some reactions and GameXplain pointed out that Bea is one version exclusive gym leader for Sword, and Farfetch'd is exclusive to Sword, so maybe they're tied together.

So whoever the Shield exclusive may be, they could be Ghost type to go with Allister.

desu, Dunsparce sound the most logical 'mon in this case
In the GSC games, Dunsparce was a rare pokemon to find, and you could only find it around a specific cave area
So perhaps the SWSH caves are most ghostly, idk if that's something which characterize Britain in some way

Another option is actually not an evo but an exclusive regional form - Girafarig. we already know it will has a new form, perhaps that form can only be found in the Shield version.

We've already seen screenshots or gameplay of like 95%+ of the interesting areas that appear on the game's map. I bet we've seen at least 50% of the dex too.

Qwilfish is already confirmed in Galardex and it ties with Farfetch'd as "useless mon that was supposed to get an evo but it got culled"

Komala have a little chance i think. Dux's leek can be compare to a sword so Komala's log can be compare to a shield.
Even a ghost type make sense

It can even keep Comatose or use his log like Mega-Sableye's ruby and get Magic Bounce.

The only problem is that Komala+eviolite is a bit too powerfull since it's a pokemon who have wish and can't get a statut condition(I doubt GF want a Chansey 2.0)and it's a really recent pokemon
