This thing is only popular because of hype season. When things die down, it's a ZU shitmon and the only thing that will really boost it is a good alternate ability in the DPP remakes.

A theory I have is that this gen will feature type evolutions that completely don't follow the pattern. The leak that said scorbunny was pure fighting in its final form is probably true, and if it is, I already have lost a lot of interest in gen 8

I guess that's kind of the point, they give him a team full of mons they think will gain a lot of popularity, and from that they will grab the most popular and give it a big focus on the anime and prduce enough merch to compensate for the failures.

Just like they did with Rowlett this gen and Greninja in the last.
